Automatic compression

We just shipped automatic compression of uploaded game files. With it, your game's size is reduced by up to 80%.

And the best part? You don't have to do anything!

Size Does Matter

Gotm strives to be an instant-play platform, where you can quickly play Godot web games for free. We want to reduce your game's loading time to near-zero. Because players want to play your game - not look at a loading screen.

Just by increasing loading times from 2 seconds to 5 seconds, the risk of a player giving up and leaving before even playing your game increases from 6% to 38%. That's unacceptable!

On average, downloading a 10MB game takes 3.5 seconds on a mobile network, and 2 seconds on broadband.

So, in order to give players the best experience possible, the game's size must be reduced as much as possible. That's where autocompression comes in!

How Do I Autocompress My Game?

When you upload your Godot game's .pck file in your dashboard, it will be automatically compressed for you. Try it out now!

Sit back, relax, and watch your game being compressed live.
